Hampshires celebrate 50th (07/29/06)

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hampshire, 622 W. High Street, Portland, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 5 with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. at the home of Jan and Mary Simmons, 427 W. High Street, Portland.

Bob and Janice Moody were married on Aug. 5, 1956, in Portland, by the Rev. J.H. Nall.

Longtime Jay County residents, Bob is retired from Teledyne Portland Forge and Janice works in the cafeteria at Judge Haynes Elementary School in Portland.

They are the parents of Bob Hampshire, John Hampshire, Teresa Hampshire and Mrs. Jan (Mary) Simmons, all of Portland. They have 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.[[In-content Ad]]
