Harrell named GM at Pennville Cabinetry (03/11/06)

Pennville Custom Cabinetry has named its second general manager in the company’s 50-year history.

Erik Harrell, who has been employed at Pennville since 1995 and is credited with much of the company’s current design options, learned cabinetry from his father, then-president of Imperial Cabinets in Gaston.

As one of his first assignments, Harrell will travel to the “Eurocucina” kitchen show in Milan, Italy, and introduce a new line of contemporary cabinetry.

Chamber meeting

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce will hold a luncheon Tuesday at noon, featuring Dr. John Gibson, Behavioral Health Services, Adams Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Gibson’s discussion topic will be “The Secret Blend, Leadership Basics.”

Certification earned

Wayne Blevins and Curtis Taylor of Sertech Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc., Portland, have been certified by the North American Technician Excellence (NATE) as service technician and installation technician.

Blevins, owner of Sertech, and Taylor, service technician and installer for Sertech, became certified in both air-to-air heat pump and air conditioning equipment and systems.

The NATE exams, developed by the independent organization that promotes excellence in installation and service of heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration equipment, reflect industry standards of what a technician should know to effectively install and service air-to-air heat pump and air conditioning systems.

EIWC meeting announced

A meeting of the Employer-Incumbent Worker Council of the East Central Indiana Workforce Investment Board will be held Friday from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Ivy Tech Community College, 4301 South Cowan Road, Muncie, in room 532.

Hospice to host luncheon

State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice will hold an informational luncheon for area ministers concerning the hospice’s Watchman program on March 21 at 11:30 a.m. at the Portland office, 410 W. Votaw St.

The program, which will be explained by Darlene Pearson, State of the Heart social worker and program coordinator, relies on church members to identify families which might need hospice care.

ECI Payroll meeting set

A membership meeting of the East Central Indiana Payroll Association will be held at the Delaware Country Club, Thursday, at 11:30 a.m.

Guest speaker will be Mary Francis, supervisor, EFT Unit, Indiana Child Support Bureau. She will discuss changes in income withholding statutes and child support payment processes.
