A memorial service for Harry Ira Emery, 77, Muncie, will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 21 at Grace Baptist Church, 6401 W. River Road, Muncie, with Pastor Rory Bond officiating.
He died Aug. 21 at Westminster Village Nursing Home in Muncie from lung cancer.
Born in Portland to Clarence and Ethel (Stauffer) Emery, he was preceded in death by his wife Linda (Green) Emery.
He had worked at Jay Garment in Portland for 42 years, beginning as a bundle boy and working up to plant manager. He spent the last 10 years traveling in his recreational vehicle and prospecting for gold.
Surviving are four sons, Robert Emery (wife: Cathy), Muncie, Dennis Emery, Portland, Richard Green (wife: Bonnie), Waynesville, Ohio, and James Green, Sparks, Nev.; three brothers, Roy Emery (wife: Jeanette), Fort Recovery, Elvin Towell and Marvin Towell (wife: Nadine), both of Portland; two sisters, Ruth McMichael (husband: Warren), Lebanon, Ohio, and Clara Reitenour (husband: Lowell), Cookeville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Burial will be in Miami Valley Memorial Gardens, Centerville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Little Red Door Cancer Services, 2311 W. Jackson St., Muncie, IN 47304 with envelopes provided at the memorial service. [[In-content Ad]]
