The Dayton Warhawks boast a roster full of draft picks from across the country.

They have a list of alumni who have played in the Major Leagues.

After Tuesday's trip to Portland, they also have their second loss of the season.

The Rockets rode a complete-game pitching effort from Jensen Painter and took the lead for good in the seventh inning in a 5-2 win over the Dayton squad.

Painter (Olney College) allowed just six hits as the Warhawks (22-2), who scored both of their runs in the fifth inning. He struck out six batters and did not issue a walk in earning the victory.

Portland, which handed Dayton its first loss last season, trailed 2-1 heading into the sixth inning. But Bryan Brudi tripled and scored the tying run on a sacrifice fly by Riley Muhlenkamp.

Brudi also had the key hit in the Rockets' 3-run seventh inning as his single drove in Heath Williams and Cameron Branock.

The Rockets scored their first run of the game when Branock opened the fourth inning with an infield single. Brudi and Ryan Shell each added walks to load the bases for Muhlenkamp with one out.

Muhlenkamp struck out, but the pitch got past the catcher to allow Branock to score.[[In-content Ad]]
