Heart health day upcoming (02/11/08)

State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice will offer a Heart Health Day on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 410 W. Votaw St. in Portland.

Participants will have their body mass index and blood pressure checked and receive informational material about taking care of their hearts. For more information, call (260) 726-3220. No appointment is needed.

Earns scholarship

Zachary Keller, a Jay County High School student, has received a Presidential Scholarship for $7,000 from Huntington University. He had to have a 3.6 grade point average and either a 1250 SAT or 28 ACT score.

Keller, the son of Kevin and Christine Keller, is a member of the National Honor Society, swing choir, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Spanish Club and Campus Life.

Dean's list

Brittany M. Bauman, Bryant, and Holly Taylor, Portland, have made the dean's list at the University of Saint Francis. Bauman is majoring in nursing and Taylor is majoring in elementary education.[[In-content Ad]]
