Now through Saturday is Children's Book Week at Jay County Public Library. The annual Get Caught Reading photo contest was held as part of the week's celebration. Photos are on display at the library and the public is invited to help choose the winner by filling out a People's Choice ballot this week. Winners will be announced Tuesday, Nov. 21.

Family Fun Time will also be held Thursday at JCPL at 9:30 a.m. for children infants and older. The next Family Fun Time will be Thursday, Nov. 30.
Fort Jubilee
The committee for the Fort Recovery Jubilee recently met and announced they made net proceeds of $15,000 from the Fort Jubilee. The committee donated $7,700 to Fort Recovery park board maintenance; $1,250 to Fort Recovery park board improvements; $550 to Fort Recovery Friends of the Arts; $1,000 to the Fort Recovery Community Foundation; $500 to the Fort Recovery Fire Department and $1,000 to Fort Recovery Band Boosters.
Medicare Mondays
Life Stream Services will offer Medicare D Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to sign people up for Medicare Part D. The meetings will take place at 1701 Pilgrim Blvd. in Yorktown and continue through Dec. 18.

Handcrafters Showcase
The 18th annual Holiday Handcrafters Showcase will be held Friday from 2 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Delaware County Fairgrounds in Muncie. Admission is $3.50 and children 12 and younger are free.
Christmas Express
The Whitewater Valley Railroad Christmas Express train will begin taking visitors from Connersville Grand Central Station to Metamora's annual Christmas Walk.
Trains will depart at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24; Saturday, Nov. 25; Saturday, Dec. 2; and Saturday, Dec. 9; and will allow three hours to shop in Metamora. Also a train will leave Sunday, Nov. 26, at 12:01 p.m. and allow two hours in Metamora.
The Santa Claus Express will operate Friday, Nov. 24, at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. with all tickets costing $5. Santa Claus will be picked up while enroute to Nulltown.
Reservations are required. The cost is $20 for adults and $12 for children ages two to 12. Caboose rentals are also available for 20 guests or less.

Minnetrista Cultural Center in Muncie will have its annual Enchanted Luminaria Walk on Friday, Dec. 1, and Saturday, Dec. 2, and volunteers are needed for luminaries, gingerbread homes, carriage rides, educational activities, decorating, food service, informational tables, photography and more.
