Homan wins award (07/30/2008)
Taking Note
A 1997 graduate of Jay County High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne has earned an Excellence in Education award for Catholic Schools of Allen County for the 2007-08 school year.
Kurt Homan has taught at Queen of Angels Elementary School in Fort Wayne for six years.
He also chairs the math, social studies and science text book adoption committees, coordinates an ISTEP Remediation Jump Start program for students needing extra work and assists in religious education.
Homan earned a degree in elementary education from Saint Francis and is presently completing a master's degree in educational leadership at Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne.
A feature of Homan's achievement can be seen on PBS Channel 39 throughout the summer.
He is the son of Ralph and Theresa Homan of rural Portland.[[In-content Ad]]
