Educational program
The program "Understanding Memory Loss" will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Jay County Hospital conference rooms A and B.
The program is free and for anyone wanting to learn more about the basics of memory loss, including normal forgetfulness, warning signs of Alzheimer's disease, brain health and coping strategies.

The program is sponsored by The Alzheimer's Association and LifeBridge Senior Behavioral Health Unit at Jay County Hospital.
Awarded scholarship
Kerri Evans was awarded the President's Scholarship from the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio.
Evans recently graduated from Jay County High School where she was active in yearbook staff, newspaper staff and National Honor Society. She is the daughter of Mia and Mark Evans, Portland.
Grief camps
State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice will sponsor camp BEARable, for children who are experiencing grief over the loss of a loved one.
Judy Stahl, bereavement specialist at Portland State of the Heart recently accepted a check for $1,000 from the Jerry and Charles Helping Hands Foundation to help fund the camp.
There is no cost. To make reservations for the camp, call (260) 726-3220 by June 15.
Honor society
Stephanie M. Rines, Portland, was recently inducted into Mortar Board at Wittenberg University.
Mortar Board is a national senior honor society recognizing scholarship, leadership and service. Members must have a 3.3 grade point average and excel in leadership and service to the Wittenberg community.[[In-content Ad]]
