Humane society to help at festival
Taking Note
Pet lovers in the area will have a chance to help the Jay County Humane Society find homes for hundreds of unwanted animals.
Visitors to the Pennville Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 16, can donate dry kitten food for kittens up to a year old, paper towels, rawhide bones, tennis balls and other toys.
A free bowl of chili will be given to donors at the festival, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pennville Park.
Also chili, apple dumplings and ice cream will be available for sale, with all proceeds going to the Humane Society.

The Pregnancy Care Center will host its annual Ladies’ Night Out on Thursday, Oct. 14, at 6 p.m. at Portland Lions Civic Center, 307 East 100 North, Portland.
