Indians' skid hits 15 games

NEW BREMEN, Ohio — The Indians are still looking for their first win in April.
Fort Recovery High School’s softball team dropped its 15th straight game Friday, falling 13-8 to the New Bremen Cardinals.
The Tribe (2-15) scored four times in the second inning to take the lead only to have New Bremen pull even in the bottom of the third. FRHS pulled ahead again in the top of the fifth, but the Cardinals exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the frame to take control.
Fort Recovery committed five errors as seven of the 13 runs against Beca Tobe were unearned. She gave up nine hits and three walks while striking out five in six innings.
Melissa Lochtefeld finished 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk and two runs, and Sierra Loya had two doubles, two RBIs and a run. Tobe notched two hits, one run and one RBI.

Cole Wendel took the loss for the Indians as five of the 12 runs against him were unearned thanks to four errors. He gave up 10 hits and six walks in five innings.
Ray Siefring finished 2-for-3 and drove in both runs for the Tribe in the opening frame. Wendel added a hit and a run, and Nathan Lochtefeld and Mike Joash had one hit apiece.[[In-content Ad]]
