Beginning Internet classes will be held Thursday, Jan. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 7, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Jay County Public Library. Basic computer skills are required. Register by calling the library at (260) 726-7890.
Page for a day
State Senator Allen Paul invites students in grades six through 12 to take part in the legislative process by serving as a page for a day. The 2006 legislative session begin January 9 and continues through March 14. Students will be excused from school for the day and need to be at the Statehouse by 8:30 a.m.

Scrapbooking class
The Jay County Public Library will have a Genealogy Scrapbook class on Saturday, Jan. 7, at 1 p.m. Participants should bring photos, obituaries and other information; such as names and dates.
There will be a $3 fee. For more information or to register by Jan. 5, call the library at (260) 726-7890.

Earns degrees
Jay County residents recently earned degrees from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Cheryl A. Harris, Pennville, earned a bachelor’s degree in management, Nyree Nichole Lewis, Portland, earned an associate’s degree in business, and Michelle Starr Overholt, Portland, earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Scholarships
Applications are available for the William M. Evans Scholarship for Indiana public high school seniors classified as special education students. The $2,000 scholarship is for students continuing education.
