Longtime Jay County residents Jack and Barbara James, 2269 S. Brookview Dr., Portland, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday with a party given by their children at Bearcreek Farms.
Jack married Barbara Bow on June 28, 1959, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hartford City with Pastor Edward Schmidt officiating.
Barbara retired from General Shanks Elementary, where she worked in the library, and Jack retired as owner/operator of Jack's Sunoco in Portland.
Mr. and Mrs. James are the parents of two children, Jack James II and Mrs. Phil (Joni) Ostrowski, both of Portland. They also have three grandchildren.[[In-content Ad]]
