Jay AAU finishes at 2-1 (03/08/04)
Jay County’s sixth grade AAU boys basketball team scored a couple of wins in the Kids Helping Kids basketball tournament at the Spiece Fieldhouse in Fort Wayne this weekend.
Jay County won each of its first two games, but lost to the Jefferson Broncos in the first round of tournament play.
In pool play Jay County opened with a 51-28 trouncing of South Adams. It then topped Jefferson 53-43, before losing to the same team in the tournament.
Karate in Fort
Fort Fitness-N-More in Fort Recovery is offering karate classes with instructor Kevin Evers.
Classes are on Tuesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. They are for anyone 5 years old and older, including adults.
Wrestling club
The Patriot Wrestling Club will hold practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m. in the Jay County High School wrestling room.
