Director named

Sherry Knight has been named the new director of the Bluffton Regional Continuing Care Center.

She offers 19 years of service at the hospital, including experience in obstetrics and emergency services. Knight also is a registered nurse who received a bachelor's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.

AmeriCare acquired

Magnolia Health Systems, Indianapolis, has acquired the Portland branch of the AmeriCare Living Center, 200 N. Park St.

AmeriCare's new name will be changed to Persimmon Ridge under its new ownership.

Farm Bureau meeting

The Jay County Farm Bureau Inc. will hold its annual meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 28. The 6 p.m. meeting will be at the Redkey church of the Nazarene, located 801 W. High St.

A free meal will be provided. Voting bureau members will be eligible to receive free door prizes. Five hundred dollars in gift certificates will be given away at the meeting.
