Jay Chamber awards tonight

The Jay County Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner meeting is tonight at Bearcreek Farms.
Fellowship begins at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m.
The chamber will present its annual Citizen of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Industry of the Year, and Business of the Year awards. In addition, the Dunkirk Community Commitment Award will be presented.
Businesses and industries reaching milestones in terms of longevity will be honored as well.

Red Gold featured
An Indiana-based tomato processing company was recently featured in an article in The Wall Street Journal.
Red Gold Inc., which is based in Elwood and has a facility in Geneva, was featured in The Wall Street Journal’s “What’s Selling Where” regular feature Thursday.
The article focused on Red Gold’s canned tomatoes – a staple of the Super Bowl party-shopping season – and the preferences of consumers by region. The company, which says it’s the largest U.S. producer of canned tomatoes, sells them under several brand names.
The article stated Red Gold’s Tuttorosso brand crushed tomatoes with basil appeal to consumers in the Northeast.
Red Gold diced tomatoes are the most popular in the Midwest and the Miami and southern Florida are, while Red Gold diced tomatoes and green chilies appeal to consumers in the Southwest region, according to the article.[[In-content Ad]]
