The Jay County High School volleyball team went undefeated Saturday en route to winning its own invitational.
The Patriots defeated Frankton 25-12, 25-14, Muncie Southside 25-23, 25-22 and Union City 25-9, 25-11.
Kylie Osborne led Jay County (12-14) with 19 kills for the tournament, while Abby Wendel and Ava Kunkler added 13 each and Bre McIntire had 12.
Malarie Houck recoreded a team-high seven aces for the Patriots, who shot 89.4 percent from the service line. Abby Barcus and Wendel each added four aces.
Defensively for Jay County, Faith Parr had 15 digs while Wendel and Houck each had 14. Lizzy Schoenlein racked up 58 assists on the day.

Eagles 1st, EJ 2nd
The West Jay and East Jay middle school seventh grade volleyball teams finished 1-2 Saturday at the East Jay Invitational at Jay County High School.

Rheagan Shimp led West Jay with 25 service points and eight kills, while Randi Ferguson added 21. Shelby Caldwell had 14 points, and Kendall Garringer and Molly Ault each recorded 11.
For East Jay, Gwen Omstead had a team-high nine kills and added seven aces and one block. Kailee Denney led the Chiefs with eight assists to go with her eight aces, four kills and two digs.
McEvoy said the boys have been getting better as the season has progressed.
“We’re seeing improvement and that’s what we want,” he said. “We’re hoping to get into position where we can at least make something happen at sectional.
“(We hope to) at least get some individuals off to regional or maybe even the team if we have a really good day.”
Behind Sutter and Gehle for the Tribe girls, who were without No. 2 runner Caitlyn Huelskamp because of a knee injury, were Wendel (22:10 – 31st), Katie Braun (23:56 – 51st) and Sydney Alig (23:59 – 53rd).
Siegrist finished 18th for the Fort Recovery boys in 17:52 followed by Gonzalez (18:14 – 30th) and Sam Huelskamp (19:45 – 62nd).
Travis Barton followed Denney and Craw in 70th place for the JCHS boys in 20:07. Chaz Carroll (20:55 – 84th) and Dustin Bricker (21:13 – 86th) were the No. 4 and No. 5 runners respectively for the Patriots.[[In-content Ad]]
