Jay Co. tankers remain perfect
WINCHESTER — Jay County’s swimmers finished June with an undefeated record. Nothing changed as they opened the July portion of their schedule.
Six different swimmers won three events apiece as the Jay County Summer Swim Team ran its perfect record to 7-0 Tuesday with a 1,381-5-778.5 victory over the host Randolph County YMCA Sharks.
Mara Bader took first in the 8-under girls long free, IM and short free. Sophie Saxman took first in the 8-under girls butterfly, backstroke and breaststroke. Alex Bader finished first in the 13-14 girls long free, butterfly and IM.
Alex LeMaster took first in the 11-12 boys long free, IM and breast stroke. Josh Monroe was first in the 8-under boys IM, breaststroke and butterfly, and Josh Lykins won the 15-over boys butterfly, backstroke and IM.
Double event winners for Jay County included Konnor Sommers in the 9-10 boys short free and long free, Ian Reynolds in the 13-14 boys backstroke and short free and Anne Vormohr in the 15-over girls long free and backstroke.[[In-content Ad]]
