Jay Co. to scrimmage Indians (08/07/04)

The Jay County football team’s intrasquad scrimmage, which was scheduled for Friday, has been canceled.
Instead, the Patriots will scrimmage the Union City Indians Friday. The game will be at Union City at 7 p.m.
Also, the Gridiron Club will host a hog roast prior to the regular-season opener against the Delta Eagles Friday, Aug. 20. The event will begin at 4 p.m., and food will be available in the JCHS commons until game time.
EJ CC practice
The East Jay cross country team will begin practicing Monday, Aug. 16.
Practices will be Monday through Friday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Runners should meet outside the south end of the East Jay gym.

The West Jay football team will begin practice Monday.
Practice will be held Monday through Thursday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Athletes are asked to be prepared with practice gear and a water bottle or sports drink.

SAHS sales to begin
South Adams High School will begin selling season tickets for the 2004-05 athletic season Wednesday, Aug. 11.
Tickets will be available in the high school office from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. They may also be purchased through the Athletic Booster Club’s summer mailing.
Prices for season passes are as follows: All sports family pass - $150; Adult all sports pass - $50, Student all sports pass - $25, Starfire Golden Pass - free.

Registration is currently open for the Cowan Fall Baseball League.
The league is for high school players, and teams will play eight regular season games beginning Sunday, Aug. 22. A single-elimination tournament will follow.

The entry fee is $25.
