Based on those figures, Jay County will be in Class 4A for football (five classes), Class 4A for baseball, basketball, softball and volleyball (four classes), and Class 2A for boys and girls soccer (two classes).
JCHS, which was the 90th-largest school for the previous classification period, came in at 99th out of 409 schools with 1,094 students. The Patriots, who were in Class 3A for basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball from 2002 through 2007, will be the fourth-smallest school in Class 4A for the next two years ahead of only New Palestine, Roncalli and Kankakee Valley.
