Jay falls to Bellmont (03/13/2009)

Rhianon Mills and Caitlin Mark each won a pair of events Wednesday, but the Jay County middle school girls swim team lost 105-80 to visiting Bellmont. The boys squad also lost, 134-33.
Mills led a diving sweep for Jay County, winning the event ahead of teammates Alicia Inman and Darcy Parker with 97.95 points. She also took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1-minute, 25.66 seconds.
Mark dominated both of her events, taking the 400 freestyle in 5:11.23, more than 30 seconds head of runner-up teammate Andrea Dugan. She took the 100 backstroke by more than four seconds at 1:18.36.
Zane Shreve earned the only victory for the boys team. He took the 100 breaststroke by more than five seconds in 1:23.53.
Two Starfires honored
LEO - Two members of the South Adams High School girls basketball team earned honors this week from the Allen County Athletic Conference.
Senior Ashton Morgan, the Starfires' leading scorer, was named to the All-ACAC first team.
Tara Beitler, also a senior, earned second-team honors.[[In-content Ad]]
