Jay County High School graduate Julie Sours, a German teacher at NHS, has been selected as a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Scholar.
The four-week program Sours will participate in is entitled “Johann Sebastian Bach: Currents and Cross-Currrents in the Baroque Era and in Our Time.”
She will travel to  Eisenach, Germany, Bach’s hometown; then to Leipzig where he was a music director for more than 20 years; and then to Potsdam where he worked in the palace of San Souci.
At the end of the program, scholars must have created a subject-specific curriculum for publication to teach American students.
