Jay Historical Museum holding program (06/26/06)

Former Jay County resident Earl Evans will present a program Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Jay County Historical Museum. Evans is an interpreter at Conner Prairie and will appear in full period costume.

The museum is located at 903 E. Main Street in Portland. Admission is free.

Receives scholarships

Students from Fort Recovery High School were awarded Fort Recovery Vocational Scholarships.

Receiving scholarships were Keith Bruns, Jason Grube, Karla Jutte, Tami Jutte, Alicia Schmackers, Mike Schoenlein, Lindsay Sudhoff, Doug Sutter, Erica Tobe and Holly Vogel.

Scholarships were presented to students taking a vocational program through Fort Recovery High School or Tri-Star Career Compact.

Receives award

Jay County native William Davidson was recently presented the Ralph “Ray” Reed award from the Indiana State Police, as part of the Toll Road District’s annual memorial service to honor all Indiana State Police employees who died in the line of duty. He is now a master motor carrier inspector assigned to Toll Road District 21.

Davidson was formerly assigned to the Redkey State Police post for 26 years before moving to Angola. He is the son of Marjorie Davidson, Portland, and the late Victor Davidson.[[In-content Ad]]
