Jay Library to begin reading programs
Several reading programs will be held at Jay County Public Library this summer with registration beginning June 8 and ending June 20.
The kids' program "Be Creative" will feature a new theme each week. There will also be special programs, story times, craft sessions and "Non-Activity Activity" packets to complete.
"Express Yourself" for teens, will feature three evening programs.
The adult reading program is for those 18 and older and weekly prizes will be given.

Portland native Susan Schenck will discuss her book "The Live Food Factor: the comprehensive guide to the ultimate diet for body, mind, spirit and planet" on June 23 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the JCPL Community Room.
The book contains 66 scientific studies to support the benefits of a raw food diet. Copies will be available for $12.

The book reading group will discuss the book "Truck: a love story" by Michael Perry at the next meeting on June 15 at 7 p.m.
Graduates
Area students received degrees from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion during graduation ceremonies on April 25.
Linda Conwell, Portland, received an associate's degree in business.
Kari Griffith, Portland, received an associate's degree in business.
Jeffrey Horn, Portland, received a bachelor's degree in business administration.
Mark Kelly, Portland, received a bachelor's degree in exercise science.
Timothy Smith, Pennville, received a bachelor's degree in business administration.
Eric Trobridge, Portland, received an associate's degree in business.
Fellowship
Brittany J. Moser, Berne, a Ball State University graduate, was awarded a James Madison Fellowship to use toward a master's degree in history
