Jay spikers drop home finale

The Jay County High School volleyball team closed its home schedule Thursday with a 25-13, 25-13, 25-12 loss to the Class 3A No. 4 Bellmont Squaws.
The Patriots, who travel to Fort Wayne North Side to play Homestead in sectional semfinal action Saturday at 12:30 p.m., are now 4-25 on the season.
Liz Walker led JCHS with seven points and six assists while fellow senior Kelsey Wood had six digs and five kills. Lacey Randolph had eight digs, Becky Mulenkamp had six digs and Ashley Langenkamp scored five points.
Mariah Hornaday totaled three kills and a block, and Maria Murphy had three kills.
FR gridders fall
FORT RECOVERY - The Fort Recovery High School junior varsity football team lost 12-6 Saturday to the St. Henry Redskins.
The lone Tribe score came in the third quarter when Shane Brunswick hit Derek Gaerke with a 55-yard TD pass.[[In-content Ad]]
