The Jay County Summer Swim Team dominated the 13-14-year-old division as it edged Celina 941-926.
Levi Hummel and Sok Vormohr combined to sweep the 13-14-year-old boys events, with Hummel taking the 50-yard backstroke, 50 breaststroke and 100 freestyle. Vormohr won the 50 butterfly, 50 freestyle and 200 individual medley.
In the 13-14-year-old girls events, Sophie Bader won the 50 breaststroke, 50 butterfly and 100 freestyle. Anne Vormohr added victories in the 50 backstroke, 50 freestyle, and 200 individual medley.
Jay County also swept the 11-12-year-old girls events with three wins apiece from Sydney Mathias and Alex Bader. Eliza Bader (8-and-younger) and Eme Miller (15-and-older) also each won three events.
Daniel Ostrowski and Neal Fennig added two victories apiece.

Tigersharks top Fort
VERSAILLES, Ohio — The Fort Recovery Eels summer swim team suffered its first loss of the season 153-86 Tuesday to the Versailles Tigersharks.
Regan Martin and Ava Bubp each picked up three victories in the 8-and-younger events. Martin’s wins cam in the boys breaststroke, butterfly and backstroke, while Bubp took the short freestyle, breaststroke and butterfly.
In the 9-10-year-old division Riley Ellenberger won the short freestyle, breaststroke and individual medley, and Cassidy Martin took the girls butterfly, breaststroke and individual medley.
Adding two wins apiece for Fort Recovery were Sophie Timmerman, Alexis Bubp, Kaitlyn Pearson, Owen Sheridan MacKinely Timmerman and Jackson Ontrop.


Seffernick leads
Kara Seffernick lead the Adams County Community Foundation 5K Run/Walk Challenge after its first two events of the 2011 season.
Seffernick has the most points of all female runners as she leads the 14-and-younger division with 36. Paul Shaffer (50-59-year-old division) and Robert Loomis (70-and-older) each have 36 points to lead all male runners.
Other leaders of the female divisions are Brittany Braun, Danette Von Gunten, Kristine Blomenberg, Joy Dunno and Pat Roberts. Leaders in the remaining male divisions are Calvin Faurote, Simon Sprunger, Eric Flueckiger, Dough Schwartz, John Schnieders and Barry Humble.

Webster powers JCM
Trenton Webster set the pace Monday for Jay County Monuments, which scored seven times in the fourth inning and held on for a 14-13 Portland Junior League Baseball victory over Williams Auto Parts.
In Tuesday’s other game, All Circuit Electrical defeated Pak-A-Sak 13-10. On Monday, All Circuit topped Barnett’s Auto Parts 19-9 and Ponderosa defeated Williams 14-11.
Webster led Monuments with a double, a triple, an inside-the-park home run, three runs and three RBIs. Landon Grimes added three hits, three runs and two RBIs.
Bailey Cox had three hits, four RBIs and two runs in All Circuit’s win Tuesday, and R.J. Lennartz hit a home run in Monday’s victory. Camdon Bush went 3-for-3 with three runs and five RBIs for Ponderosa.[[In-content Ad]]
