Jay County’s 13-14-year-old girls went all out Wednesday.
Anne Vormohr walked away with two individual team records in the division, and her cousin, Sophie Bader, added another. The pair also joined Ashley Mark and Katy Smeltzer for a pair of relay records as they led the Jay County Summer Swim team to a 689.5-475.5 victory over the visiting Fort Recovery Eels.
Vormohr broke the team and Portland Pool records in the 50-meter backstroke in 32.6 seconds, shattering the previous mark of 33.48 set by Abby Arnold in 1998. She also broke her sister Cori’s team mark (1 minute, 4.42 seconds) in the long freestyle as she won in 1:04.27.Bader also took down team and pool records in the 50 butterfly with a winning time of 30.55. The previous team record was 31.43 by Cori Vormohr in 2004, and the former pool record was 30.82 by Kym Cossairt of Wells Community in 2001.

Their time of 2:15.52 in the 200 medley relay was nearly four seconds faster than the team record of 2:19.33 set by Taylor Fullenkamp, Jenni Little, Janelle Johnston and Arnold in 1997. They finished in 2:03.4 in the 200 freestyle relay, surpassing the previous team mark of 2:07.36 set by Emily Laux, Little, Johnston and Arnold in 1998.
Wells Community held the previous pool records in both events at 2:18.54 and 2:06.06 respectively.
In addition to her record-breaking individual swim, Bader was first in the breaststroke and short freestyle. Vormohr added a win in the individual medley.
Three swimmers picked up three victories apiece to lead Fort Recovery (3-2).
Gavin Thobe took the top spot in the 8-and-younger boys long freestyle, individual medley and short freestyle, and MacKinely Timmerman finished first in the 13-14-year-old boys butterfly, individual medley and breaststroke.
Cassidy Martin claimed victories in the 9-10-year-old girls long freestyle, individual medley and breaststroke.
Jay County (4-1), which has won three meets in as many days, also got three victories apiece from Lilly Clemmons, Alex Bader and Robby Gardner. Adding two wins each were Kaitlyn Dow, Tayler Smeltzer, Sydney Mathias and Sok Vormohr.
