Last week at Connersville: The Patriots were stopped about an inch short on a fourth-down attempt in the red zone with less than two minutes to play as they lost 37-36. JCHS led throughout the game until the Spartans' Zach Hufferd, who had 137 yards rushing and 237 passing, ran for a 14-yard TD with 6:57 to play. Michael Daniels racked up 171 yards and three TDs on 29 carries for the Patriots.
Season leaders: Passing - Zach Cash - 36-of-88 for 414 yards and three TDs. Rushing - Michael Daniels - 105 carries for 603 yards and 8 TDs, Cash - 76 carries for 390 yards and four TDs. Receiving - Ben Vance - 16 receptions for 129 yards and two TDs.

Last week vs. Delta: The visiting Class 4A No. 6 Eagles overcame three turnovers and pitched a shutout in the second half to hand Pendletown Heights a 44-20 defeat. Teddy Dawson led Delta to the victory with 18 carries for 130 yards and three TDs. Mitch Patishall completed 19-of-37 passes for the Arabians for 138 yards, one TD and two interceptions, and Ravaughn White ran eight times for 85 yards.
Season leaders: Passing - Mitch Patishall - 41-of-84 for 454 yards and five TDs, Grant Hendershot - 30-of-65 for 411 yards and four TDs. Rushing - Ravaughn White - 64 carries for 295 yards and one TD. Receiving - White - 15 receptions for 152 yards and three TDs. Defense - Patrick Butler - 61 tackles.
Last meeting: Justin Gilbert had touchdown runs of 14, 30, 55 and 63 yards as he set a school record with 308 rushing yards on 32 carries to lead Jay County to a 41-28 victory over the Arabians in the opening round of the 2005 sectional tournament. The Patriots pulled away by scoring three consecutive fourth-quarter TDs.
Game notes: The five losses for Pendleton Heights have come against teams with a combined record of 23-7, including Delta (6-0) and Class 4A No. 9 Shelbyville (6-0) ...
