Seniors Amanda Johnson and Erika Hunt powered the Jay County High School girls track team Tuesday as it rolled to 5-0 with a 76-47 victory over the visiting Richmond Red Devils.
Dexter Shreve added two more individual wins, but the boys team lost, 73-50.
Hunt controlled the hurdles, winning the 100-meter event in 16.9 seconds and the 300 at 51.7. Johnson picked up her wins in the 400 dash with a time of 1-minute, 3 seconds and the 3,200 run in 14:50.
The duo also teamed with Sarah Westgerdes and Katie Butcher to take the 4x400 relay in 4:46.6.
Shreve, who had three individual wins at Jay County's first two meets of the season, added two more for the boys team against the Red Devils. He was first in the 400 dash by nearly three seconds in 41.93, and took the long jump at 20 feet, 3 ¾ inches.
Leah Wellman added a victory in 2:38 in the 800 run for the girls team. Amy Alig took first in the discus with a toss of 81 feet 6 ½ inches.
Sarah Mescher, Kaelee Keller, Jordan McMillan and Lindsey Shannon teamed to win the 4x100 relay in 54.1, and Deidre Chenoweth, Logan Laux, Cassie Laux and Erica Butcher finished the 4x800 relay in the winning time of 12:41.9.
Brandon Reynard, a double winner in each of the first two meets for the boys, took the top spot in the 300 hurdles by more than six seconds in 39.84. The only other individual win for JCHS came from Derek Bartlett, who picked up his first career victory by clearing the bar at 5 feet, 6 inches in the high jump.
Shreve, Reynard, Sean Hatzell and Patrick Johnson teamed to win the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:42.5. Johnson, Brady Mills, Brandon Brinton and Joe Imel finished first in the 4x800 relay with a time of 10:09.1.[[In-content Ad]]
