JC grads visit Ireland, Britain (03/25/08)
Taking Note
Joshua Atkinson traveled to Ireland and Britain in January as part of a class at Manchester College.
Atkinson visited Dublin, London, Bath, Stratford-upon-Avon and other cities and villages to study the different regions in the two countries, with a focus on the effects of war and how the past is part of the present. The trip also included Loch Ness, Stonehenge, the Roman baths, Imperial War Museum and more.
A Jay County High School graduate, Atkinson is a sophomore majoring in political science.
Mini moves
Stephanie Arnold will present "Mini Moves That Add Up To 30 Minutes A Day" beginning April 1 at 1 p.m. at Jay Community Center. Arnold will teach ways to improve fitness, blood pressure and body fat during daily routines.
The program is sponsored by the Jay Cooperative Extension Service.
Marine gathering
An Indiana Marine Family Gathering will be held April 19 at Riley's Party Barn in Anderson at 1 p.m. There will be a potluck lunch. For more information, visit www.IndianaUSMCfamily.com.
