JC students selected to symposium (12/01/07)

U.S. Senator Dick Lugar announced area high school students who have been selected to attend his "Symposium for Tomorrow's Leaders" at the University of Indianapolis on Friday.

Cassandra Laux and Amy Powell, both juniors at Jay County High School, will attend the program that focuses on national and world affairs. Students will participate in a choice of ten discussion groups.

Library events

Jay County Public Library will have a Holiday Craft Open House on Saturday from noon until 3 p.m. in the Community Room.

Children may decorate a sugar cookie and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate. There will also be crafts for children and adults to complete with instructions available.

The program is sponsored by Friends of Jay County Public Library.

An after school special will be held Friday, Dec. 14, from 2:45 to 4 p.m. at the library for children ages kindergarten through fifth grade.

There will be snacks provided, a story shared and a craft or two completed.

Registration is required by Wednesday, Dec. 12.
