Jay County dropped its season opener. But since then, it has been unstoppable.
The Jay County Summer Swim Team won its fifth straight dual meet Monday, cruising past Halteman Village (Muncie) 765-367.
Josh Lykins and Eme Miller each won three events in the 15-and-older division to lead Jay County (5-1), which has also defeated Celina, Wells Community, Union City and Fort Recovery during its winning streak. Lykins took the 100-meter freestyle, 100 butterfly and 200 individual medley, and Miller was first in the 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley.
Sisters Eliza and Alex Bader each won the short freestyle, butterfly and individual medley in the 9-10-year-old and 11-12-year-old divisions respectively.
Earning two wins apiece for Jay County were Lilly Clemmons, Mara Bader, Mary Hudson, Sophie Bader, Ashley Mark, Anne Vormohr, Audrey Shreve, Christian Vormohr, Tayler Smeltzer, Sok Vormohr, Abilene Hough, Konner Sommers and Alex Sutton.
Ludy lifts Barnett’s
Mason Ludy came up with a walk-off hit Monday to lift Barnett’s Auto Parts to a 16-15, extra-inning victory over All Circuit Electric in Portland Junior League Rookie baseball.
Mason Ludy drove in Landon Garringer and Peyton Ludy with the tying and winning runs as he finished with four hits, four RBIs and three runs. Sebastian Jones added three hits, three RBIs and two runs.
All Circuit got three hits, four RBIs and three runs from Crosby Heniser.
A.J. Myers paced Williams Auto Parts with three hits, three runs and three RBIs as it defeated Williams Auto Parts 12-9. Sam Myers had three hits, five RBIs and a run.
Tarron Bentz hit an inside-the-park homer for Williams.
Fuller finishes trip
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Chance Fuller and his Coast to Coast Athletics squad finished with a 6-2 record during their trip to Puerto Rico.
Fuller turned in a .530 batting average and also drew four walks on the trip, which ended Saturday. He had a double, a triple, a grand slam home run and nine RBIs.[[In-content Ad]]
