The Cookbook Club at Jay County Public Library will have the “sharing of the green” to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at its next meeting on Monday, March 12, at 6:15 p.m.
Bring green food to share and your own table service. The group meets each month to trade recipes and try new foods.

Anyone who wants to learn more about eReaders and eBooks is invited to an open house on Tuesday, March 13, from 5 and 7 p.m. Devices that will be displayed will be the Kindle Fire, the Nook Color and the iPad2. Participants may also bring their own devices for assistance.
Also, Tech Petting Zoos, for teenagers, will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, March 6 and 7, at 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. Teens will get to check out the Kindle Fire, the Nook Color and the iPad2.

A Beginner’s Internet Class: Senior Style, will be held Wednesday, March 14, from 10 a.m. until noon for those 55 and older. Learn how to use a mouse, navigate a webpage and surf the web.

The Book Discussion Group will meet Monday, March 19, at 7 p.m. It will discuss the book “For Whom the Bell Tolls” by Ernest Hemingway.
The novel was drawn from the author’s experiences as a war correspondent and an ardent supporter of the Republican cause during the Spanish Civil War.

Friends of the Library will meet Tuesday, March 20, at 6:30 p.m.  Anyone who wants to join can pick up a form at the library.

Hunger Games for teens will be held Wednesday, March 21, at 6 p.m. and Thursday, March 22, at 2 p.m.
The event is in preparation of the movie “Hunger Games” which is based on the book, although the book doesn’t have to be read to participate. Registration for the event is appreciated.
Also, a Hunger Games themed crossword puzzle will be available at the library beginning Monday, March 12, for those 18 and older. The puzzle needs to be returned by March 22 to be eligible for the prize drawing to be held March 23. The prize is the book “Battle Royale” by Koushun Takami.

A Trivia Contest will be held Monday, March 26, at 6 p.m. There will be refreshments and prizes. Registration deadline is March 19.

The Crochet Club will meet Tuesday, March 27, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Beginners and experts are welcome. Bring your own supplies.

Story times in March at Jay County Public Library will be on Mondays and Tuesdays at 11:15 a.m. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Several stories are read, a song or flannelboard follows and a craft is completed.

New director
Curt Burnette has been named the new program director at Limberlost State Historic Site in Geneva. Burnette, who lives in Montpelier, graduated from Purdue University with a degree in wildlife science.[[In-content Ad]]
