JCPL bus ride set (08/05/2008)
Taking Note
Jay County Public Library will have its annual school bus program "Don't Miss the Bus" on Monday, Aug. 11, at 10 a.m.
Any child entering kindergarten, who will ride a bus to or from school or latchkey, is invited to ride a Jay School Corporation bus from the library to Bloomfield Elementary. The children will be greeted by teacher Carolyn Scott, play in her classroom, listen to stories and play on the playground.
The bus will arrive back at the library at approximately noon. Registration is required. For more information or to register, call the library at (260) 726-7890.
Orientation
Jay County High School will have freshman and new student orientation on Thursday, Aug. 14, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the high school. Students can sign up for orientation when registering for classes or by calling the high school at (260) 726-9306.
Kittens named
The Jay County Humane Society recently announced the winners in the "Name the Kittens" contest held at the Jay County Fair.
Ashland Davis won with the name 'Puddin' for the female tortoise; Raylan Shull was chosen as the winner for naming the female striped cat 'Miley' and Samantha Homan chose the winning name 'Bubba' for the black male cat.
