JCPL hosting Halloween event
Taking Note
A Halloween event, for children preschool age through fifth grade, will be held Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Jay County Public Library.
Children may come dressed in costume for the event to be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. There will be make it/take it crafts, cookie decorating and refreshments.
An adult must accompany children. For more information, call (260) 726-7890.
Finding Fort
A free program will be held at the Jay County Historical Museum, 903 E. Main St. in Portland, entitled “Finding the Original Fort.”
The program will be held Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. and Christine Keller, Ball State archaeologist, will discuss the archaeological dig that took place in Fort Recovery last summer.
Lecture
Dr. Douglas Hurt, head of the history department at Purdue University, will discuss Indian Policy and the Ohio Frontier on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. at Garst Museum, 205 N. Broadway, Greenville, Ohio.
