The Jay County Public Library will have story times for infants and children, accompanied by an adult, on Mondays and Tuesdays in January.
Monday story times are Jan. 8 and 15 at 10 a.m. Tuesday story times are Jan. 9, 16 and 23 at 1 p.m.
Story times will include four or five books read aloud, followed by a craft.

Family fun time, for infants and toddlers, will be held on Thursday, Jan. 11, and Thursday, Jan. 25, at 9:30 a.m.
Children must be accompanied by an adult and there will be stories, toys, music and instruments shared.

Snowy Bingo, an activity/reading program, is also taking place in January at JCPL. Snowy Bingo boards can be picked up at the library and as activities are completed, players have a chance to win bingo prizes.

The library's 3rd Annual Coffee Tasting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The theme will be Coffee from Around the World and will feature exotic coffees and teas.
Receives degrees
Several Jay County residents received degrees from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion.
Lois Kay Cannon, Dunkirk, earned an associates degree in addictions counseling; Amada Joy Capshaw, Bryant, earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education; Beverly Schwartzkopf, Portland, earned a bachelor's degree in management; David L. Straley, Portland, earned a master of business administration; and Christa Jo Wall, Portland, earned a bachelor's degree in nursing.
New members
Donna Shreeve, Dave Ferguson and Barb Stoltz recently became new members of the Portland Lions Club.
Museum events
The Muncie Children's Museum will be turned into a tropical paradise on Friday for Friends and Family Fun Night. There will be tropical games, crafts, limbo and hula hoop contests.
Admission is free from 3 to 7 p.m. Friends and Family Fun Nights are sponsored by Ball Brothers Foundation and Indiana Michigan Power.

The Muncie Children's Museum will have Free Family Saturdays the last Saturday of each month in 2007.
Visitors will receive free admission on Jan. 27, Feb. 24, March 31, April 28, May 26, June 30, July 28, Aug. 25, Sept. 29, Oct. 27, Nov. 24 and Dec. 29.
Free Family Saturdays are sponsored by the Muncie Sunrise Rotary Club.
The museum is located at 515 S. High St. in downtown Muncie and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
