JCPL offering Mitchard's book (08/09/07)

Jay County Public Library will begin its Jay County Reads program in September with Jacquelyn Mitchard as the featured author. Orders for her books will be taken beginning Monday at the library.

Paperbacks copies of "The Breakdown Lane," "Theory of Relativity," and "Twelve Times Blessed" will be available for $3. Copies of "Cage of Stars" and "Deep End of the Ocean" will be available for $6.

Bus ride

Jay County Public Library will have its "Don't Miss the Bus" program on Monday at 10 a.m. for children entering kindergarten who will be riding a school bus.

Children will ride a bus from the library to Bloomfield Elementary where teacher Carolyn Scott will greet them and show them around her classroom. They will also listen to stories and play on the playground and return to the library at noon.

Book sale

The Friends of the Jay County Public Library will be accepting book donations, for its annual sale, Saturday, Aug. 18, through Tuesday, Aug. 21 in the community room of the library.

Donations should be in good, clean condition. Accepted items are fiction and non-fiction books for children and adults, videos, CDs, puzzles and magazine less than three years old.

Indiana University Purdue University in Fort Wayne recently announced its dean's list and semester honors list for the spring semester.
