Mr. and Mrs. Max Johnson, Dunkirk, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at Ryan’s Steakhouse, Muncie, in November.
Max married Vera “Corky” Clay on Dec. 31, 1953, at the First Baptist Church parsonage by the Rev. James H. Brown.
The couple are the parents of Richard (wife Demetra) Johnson, O’Fallon, Mo.; Rita Stover, Warsaw; and Mrs. Todd (Rhonda) McAchren, Monticello. They also have six grandchildren; one stepgrandson; and one great-granddaughter.
A retired rural letter carrier out of the Dunkirk Post Office, Max works part-time at Albany Golf Course. He graduated from Redkey High School.
A Dunkirk High School graduate, Vera is retired from the Jay County Hospital. She line-dances with Ross Center Dancers.
They are members of the First Church of God in Eaton. They spend the winter months in Lutz, Fla., where they attend Victorious Life Church, Wesley Chapel. They also sing with the Friendship Singers, Land of Lakes, Fla.[[In-content Ad]]
