Judgment rendered against car dealer
Jay Circuit Court granted a judgment of about $1.4 million against former Portland car dealership owner Ken Kunkle for money owed to First Merchants Bank.
The court granted four judgments to the bank of $48,115.18, $814.075.09, $414,770.55 and $113,441.06 from Kunkle, whose dealership closed in December. The judgments total $1,390,401.80.
The order granted foreclosure against three pieces of property owned by Kunkle at 414 N. Meridian St., 324 N. Commerce St., and 1015 N. Meridian St., all in Portland, which will be sold via sheriff sale. The court document also noted that MainSource bank holds a mortgage lien “superior to the mortgages of FMB” on the 324 N. Commerce St. property of $7,638.57 and a federal tax lien owed to the Internal Revenue Service of $144,133.89.[[In-content Ad]]
