Junior high baseball meeting set (03/14/05)

There will be a meeting for the Jay County junior high baseball program Wednesday.
The meeting will be in room 283 at Jay County High School, which is located in the science area, at 7:30 p.m. East Jay and West Jay parents and players are invited to attend to discuss the upcoming season.
Junior league
Sign-up sessions for the upcoming Portland Junior League season will be held on each of the next two Saturdays.
Those interested in signing up to play baseball or softball this summer can do so at the Junior League diamonds at Weiler-Wilson Park March 19 or 26 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The leagues are for boys and girls ages six through 15.
Jay needs coach
Jay County High School is accepting applications for the position of varsity volleyball coach.
Those interested should submit an application, letter of interest and resume to: Phil Ford, Athletics Director, Jay County High School, 2072 W. SR 67, Portland, IN, 47371.
Swim coach needed
The Jay County Summer Swim Team is looking for a coach for the 2005 season.
Those interested in applying should send a resume to: Mike Simons, 720 W. Main St., Portland, IN, 47371. The deadline to apply is March 9.
Hoop league
The Randolph County YMCA is looking for teams for its two spring men’s basketball leagues.
Games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday nights beginning during the final week of March. The season runs through the first week of May.
