MONTICELLO - Jay County's state-ranked wrestler led the team as it finished sixth out of 16 teams Saturday at the Twin Lakes Invitational.
Casey Kenney, who is rated 16th in his weight class by the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association, finished as the runner-up at 103 pounds. The Patriots scored 134.5 points in all, 5.5 ahead of Maconaquah and 14 behind Logansport.
South Bend Riley scored 192.5 points to win by 3.5 over Delphi.
Kenney was one of four Jay County wrestlers to post a 3-1 record at the tournament. Cameron Pfeifer (112), Ben Theurer (130) and Tom Smith (189) all went 3-1 as well and placed third.
Josh Lochtefeld (119), Aaron Brenner (145) and Alan Brown (152) all went 3-2 for sixth place, and Caleb Culy (125) finished 3-2 and placed seventh.[[In-content Ad]]
