Koch to replace Ontrop (9/23/05)

Will serve as treasurer for Fort schools

A woman now serving as finance director for the city of Vandalia, Ohio has been hired to be the next treasurer of Fort Recovery Local Schools.

The hiring of Lori Koch was approved Wednesday at a special meeting of the Fort Recovery School Board. She’ll succeed longtime treasurer Dennis Ontrop, who is retiring at the end of 2005.

Prior to taking the Vandalia post, Koch was an assistant regional project manager for the State of Ohio auditor’s office for 13 years. She’ll join Fort Recovery Local Schools on Jan. 1, 2006, on a two-year contract.

“I am excited about having Lori become a part of the Fort Recovery leadership team,” said superintendent David Riel in a prepared statement. “She has an extensive and successful work history in both the school finance and city government arenas.”

Riel said there were a number of candidates for the job and that the Ohio School Boards Association assisted with the search.

Ontrop has been treasurer for Fort Recovery Local Schools for more than 25 years.[[In-content Ad]]
