Taking Note
A Technology Petting Zoo will be held at Jay County Public Library for anyone wanting to learn more about eReaders. The event will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the library. The Kindle Touch, Nook Color and iPad2 will be displayed for anyone to try. Visitors may also bring their own eReaders for library staff to answer questions about.
A Presidential After School Special will be held Friday from 2:45 to 4 p.m. at the library for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. There will be refreshments, a political story and a patriot craft or two. To register, call the library at (260) 726-7890.
The book discussion group will discuss the book “Cutting for Stone” by Abraham Verghese on Monday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. The group meets the third Monday of each month. New members are welcome.
Story times at the library will be Monday, Feb. 20 and 27 at 11:15 a.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 21 and 28 at 11:15 a.m. Children may attend with their parents. There will be stories and a craft.
Bee winners
William Trammell, a fifth grade student, was the spelling bee winner at Judge Haynes Elementary. The alternate was Dacia Curme, also a fifth grader.
