Library announces upcoming events (7/9/05)

A Saturday craft special, featuring do-it-yourself pioneer crafts will be Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Jay County Public Library. All materials are provided. For more information, call Linda at (260) 726-7890.
Alligator Aaron will entertain young and old once again at the Jay County Public Library on Monday at 11 a.m. At his last appearance Aaron combed a youngster’s hair with a hedgehog and made a ghost snake dance.
His newest program will feature animals that were present during pioneer times, in keeping with the summer reading program’s theme “Discover New Trails @ your library!”
Also a program for teens (sixth through 12th grade) featuring a food tasting and comparison event (between generic and brand names) will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. Registration is requested by calling (260) 726-7890.
Well clinic
The Jay County Well Child Clinic will be open on Tuesday from 4 t0 8 p.m. at 521 S. Wayne St. in Portland for Jay County residents only. Youth and children physical examinations, TB tests, lead screenings and children’s developmental delay screenings will be available.
Appointments are needed for physical exams by calling (260) 726-9318. The clinic is for families who are without insurance or are underinsured, a sliding scale fee up to $20 may be applied for some services.
