Limberlost hosting homeschool event
Taking Note
The Limberlost State Historic Site in Geneva will have a homeschool event on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Homeschool students will participate in an aquatic insect dig at Loblolly Marsh on county road 250 West, an insect history detective game at the Limberlost Cabin and create a wetland model.
The event is ideal for second to sixth grade students. The cost is $4 per student. To make reservations by Aug. 10, call Randy Lehman at (260) 368-7428.
Grief group
State of the Heart Hospice will offer a grief support group beginning Monday, Aug. 3 and continuing through Monday, Sept. 7.
Meetings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the State of the Heart office at 410 W. Votaw St. in Portland.

Dean's list
Alyssa Johnson, Portland, was named to the spring 2009 dean's list at Taylor University.
She is a senior majoring in elementary education.
