Leadoff batter Carter Link notched hits in each of his three at bats Wednesday to lead Ponderosa to a 9-8 victory over All Circuit Electric in Portland Junior League Rookie baseball.
Link ripped doubles to start the first and second innings, added a single in the third and scored twice. Adrek Pogue chipped in two hits, two RBIs and a run.
Crosby Heniser hit an inside-the-park home run for All Circuit and drove in three runs.
Mason Ludy led a dominant effort by Barnett’s Auto Parts with an inside-the-park home run, a double, two runs and seven RBIs in a 15-4 win over Pak-A-Sak. Bryce Collins went 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs and an RBI.
Pak-A-Sak got an inside-the-park homer from Tyler Manor.


Houck honored
RICHMOND — Drew Houck was one of 25 Indiana University East athletes to be named to the All-Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete Team.
Houck, a 2011 Jay County High School graduate, plays golf for the Red Wolves. To be eligible for the award, an athlete must carry a grade point average of 3.25 or higher.[[In-content Ad]]
