Taking Note
By By VIRGINIA CLINE-
Local author Janice Stuckey recently completed a book entitled "Dorothy's Dunkirk-Including Western Jay County Families Connected to Dorothy's Family."
The book is a collection of writings from longtime Dunkirk resident Dorothy Current Bolinger and includes recollections about early Jay County and Dunkirk area businesses, activities and personalities; as well as many photographs of Dunkirk buildings and scenes. Bolinger was born in Dunkirk in 1900 and previously published parts of the book in articles in The News and Sun.
Janice recently held a book signing at Community First Bank and Trust in Dunkirk. The book may be purchased at the Jay County Historical Museum, 903 E. Main Street in Portland.

The Wells County Historical Society will hold its annual Hobby and Collector Show on Monday, Aug. 21, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Bluffton-Harrison Elementary School, 1100 E. Spring Street in Bluffton.

Andrew Carl Paxson, Bryant, graduated from the University of Northwestern Ohio, in the spring. He earned a diploma as an agricultural equipment technician.
Paxson also made the dean's list.

The girls learned the political system through a mythical city, county and state in which Amanda was elected election board sheriff and appointed to the Department of Diverse Communities and Carissa was elected precinct committeman.
Amanda is the daughter of Mark and Lisa Barnett, Portland, and Carissa is the daughter of Mike and Joan Wilkins, Bryant.
