Ludy's career ends

Local roundup

WACO, Texas — Josh Ludy gave his Bears a final chance.
Still, their dream of a World Series berth died Monday.
Ludy drew a walk with two outs in the 10th inning, but a strikeout two batters later sent the second-ranked host Baylor University baseball team home with a 1-0 loss to the No. 20 Arkansas Razorbacks in the deciding game of the Waco Super Regional.
Arkansas advances to play Kent State in the opening round of the College World Series at 9 p.m. Saturday in Omaha, Neb.
Brian Anderson singled to lead off the top of the 10th inning for the Razorbacks, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and scored the game’s only run when pinch hitter Jake Wise smacked a two-out single to left field.
Ludy’s walk gave the Bears a chance, and Max Muncy followed with a single to left-center field that advanced pinch runner Logan Brown to second base. But Arkansas reliever Colby Suggs struck out Dan Evatt to end the game.
After a fly out in the first inning, Ludy walked in each of his next four plate appearances.
