Marsh seeks new CEO
Marsh Supermarkets is looking for a new CEO, the second time the company will have to do so since last year.
Current CEO Joe Kelley resigned Tuesday in order to take a position as president of the 375-store New England division of Stop & Shop. Chief operating officer Bill Holsworth will step in as interim CEO.
Kelley replaced five-year CEO Frank Lazaran in 2011.
Sales up
Franklin Electric Company reported record first quarter sales, leading to a 113 percent increase in earnings.
First quarter sales hit $201.9 million in the first three months of 2012, showing an increase from $185.3 million in the same period last year. The 2012 figures was a record for that quarter.
Earnings also increased by 96 cents per share, a rise of 113 percent from the 45 cents in the 2011 quarter.
Franklin’s CEO attributed the growth to lower raw material cost, price increases in the water system business sector and strong groundwater pump sales.
Franklin also gained a controlled stake in Pioneer Pump, which is expected to further extend pump sales.

State of the Heart Hospice and Nature’s Green are teaming up to put on the second annual Mercer County garden tour to benefit the hospice.
The tour will include visits to homes in Fort Recovery, Coldwater, St. Henry and Celina and will include 10 sites, including one business.
