McBrides celebrate 45th (12/04/2008)

Longtime Jay County residents Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Roger McBride Sr. celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on Monday.

Marvin married Vera "Sue" Myers on Dec. 1, 1963, at the former Evangelical United Methodist Church in Portland by the Rev. Floyd Elliott.

The couple have been owners of Marv's Window Cleaning in Portland for more than 40 years.

Marvin retired from Marsh Supermarkets in 1999 after 40 years and has been Jay County Courthouse superintendent for nearly 10 years.

Sue worked as a telephone operator and high school cafeteria worker and has decorated the courthouse for Christmas the past 10 years.

They are the parents of two children, Dr. Marvin R. McBride Jr., Lafayette, and Mrs. Jeff (Christina) Getz, Roosevelt Island, New York City, N.Y. They have eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.[[In-content Ad]]
