McCowan racks up six RBIs (06/18/07)

Baseball roundup

MUNCIE and WINCHESTER - Tony McCowan made sure his team didn't stay under .500 for very long.

After Jay-Randolph fell behind 2-0 to Kokomo through 11/2 innings, McCowan, a Jay County graduate, got the offense started with an RBI double in the bottom of the second. He added a three-run home run in the fourth inning and finished the day 4-for-5 with six RBIs and three runs.

Fellow JCHS graduate Andy Hughes got the win as he gave up three runs in six innings, and Lance Morrison supported McCowan's effort by going 3-for-3 with three runs and an RBI.

Eric Moreland took Friday's loss, giving up 11 runs - six earned - on 10 hits in 42/3 innings. McCowan and Hughes both had a single, an RBI and a run in the defeat.
